I've seen a few articles about this now and am surprised to see how thrilled people are with the new MasterChef winner, and that a lot of the frenzy around his win has to do with the fact that he's a Jewish convert, and not a born-Jew in Israel. As a Jewish convert to-be, I find this to be an interesting element of the story. If you're interested, you can read about my process converting to Judaism on my blog: www.convertconfidential.com

Why the tendentious remark in the on-air teaser about the show "reinforcing stereotypes", followed by judge Michal Anski's enthusiastic, humorous comments about Tom Franz (2:38)? I hear no prejudice in the actual story, but the teaser was horrid. We hear this kind of garbage all the time from BBC; come on, The World, you can do better!
