Last year, for the first time in 60 years, China’s population fell. This development was not unexpected, but it came much sooner than experts thought it might. What are the factors that caused the drop? And what will the impact be for Chinese families? Marco Werman speaks with Mary Kay Magistad, a former China correspondent for The World who is now deputy director for the Asia Society’s Center on US China Relations.
