After rise in deadly silicosis, Australia bans engineered stone

Engineered quartz is the most popular choice for kitchen counters in many parts of the globe, including the US and Australia, but it’s proved to be deadly to the tradespeople who cut and polish them. As of July 1, Australia will implement a complete ban on engineered stone. The World’s Sarah Birnbaum reports from Sydney, for the final installment of our series on manmade quartz and rising cases of silicosis.
