Officials downplayed the latest incident saying this was not related to another leak just two weeks ago, when enriched uranium leaked into the local water supply. But environmental groups say they’re concerned and that this shows a lack of security at French nuclear sites. The French government has announced a plan to expand its nuclear energy grid, where nuclear energy already accounts for 80% of France’s energy needs.
