Tymoshenko Case: International Pressure on Ukraine Intensifies

Ukrainian politician Yulia Tymoshenko is a polarizing figure. As reporter Brigid McCarthy says, people in Ukraine either love her or hate her.

The former Prime Minister is now in prison on corruption charges — charges which many in the West believe are politically motivated. Tymoshenko is currently on hunger strike to protest her treatment in prison.

Tymoshenko says she has been beaten, which the authorities deny. The United States has called for her release.

Anchor Marco Werman speaks with reporter Brigid McCarthy about Tymoshenko’s rise and fall.
