Afghanistan’s popular Tolo TV is gearing up for the country’s elections next week. The channel is promising American-style coverage on election day and night, including on-the-scene reporting and exit polling. The idea, say channel executives is not just to generate buzz, but to hold Hamid Karzai, the current president, accountable.
