The Cape Verdean singer Cesaria Evora has had an unusual career. The singer, known as “The barefoot diva,” started recording albums at the ripe age of 47. And she went on to release 10 more albums, many of them huge hits. But in 2008, Evora suffered a stroke while on tour in Australia. That did slow her down a bit.
