The UN endorsed a controversial report yesterday that accuses Israel and Hamas of war crimes in Gaza. On that same day, the report’s author, Judge Richard Goldstone met in a public forum with a former Israeli ambassador to discuss the report’s accusations. Correspondent Amy Bracken reports from Waltham, Massachusetts.

goldstonegaza150The UN Human Rights Council has backed a report into the Israeli offensive in Gaza that accuses both Israel and Palestinian militants of war crimes. The report by Richard Goldstone calls for credible investigations by Israel and Hamas, and suggests international war crimes prosecutions if they do not. The United States and Israel opposed official endorsement of the report, saying it would set back Middle East peace hopes.

zebraHere’s a strange and sad piece of news out of the Gaza strip. It concerns the Marah Land Zoo in Gaza City. Earlier this year, it seems that the military situation in Gaza contributed to the deaths of some of the zoo’s animals. According to zoo keepers, two zebras starved to death. So now they’ve resorted to artifice to keep ”zebras” on display. We hear from zoo administrator Nidal Barood later today. Download MP3
