Mexicans have long been coming to the United States to work on farms. Many cross the border without papers — it’s estimated that about half of the agricultural workforce in the United States is here illegally. One Midwestern goat farmer thought that wasn’t right, that the system was unfair to his Mexican workers. So, he moved to Mexico. The World’s Jason Margolis has more. Download MP3

The last piece of the health care reform law is now on its way to President Obama. He’s expected to sign it next week. The law’s main purpose is to extend health care coverage to millions of uninsured Americans. Non-Americans who are here illegally are still out of luck. Haiti’s government estimates that the country will need $11.5 billion to rebuild after the devastating earthquake in January. Although it’s been a terrible tragedy it has also provided a rare opportunity for Haitians who are living in the United States illegally. The federal government is allowing undocumented Haitians to apply for temporary protected status – or TPS. It will allow them to get jobs and come out of the shadows. In his speech on health care reform President Barack Obama told Congress he planned to improve health insurance for those who have it and to create an insurance exchange to extend cover to those who do not.
