Anchor Marco Werman gets an update on the tensions in Beirut, Lebanon from reporter Ben Gilbert. The neighborhood where Gilbert lives was seized by Hezbollah militants, as part of their push to wrest control of west Beirut from forces loyal to the U.S. backed government.

UN to resume Burma aid (4:00)

The United Nations today announced it will resume aid shipments to Burma. UN officials had earlier suspended aid flights intended to help Burmese cyclone survivors, complaining that the Burmese government had seized some of the aid. Marco Werman finds out more from Greg Barrow of the UN's World Food Program.

Missing asylum seekers (4:00)

Immigration authorities in Canada seem to have lost track of thousands of asylum seekers whose applications were turned down. The government wants to deport them -- but it has to find the asylum applicants first. Derek Stoffel has the story.



Soda pop ban lifted (3:00)

For the past 25 years, residents of Canada's Prince Edward Island haven't been able to buy soda cans locally. It was illegal to sell the cans. Now the ban is lifted. Host Marco Werman cracks open a can of soda pop and chats with Tim MacKay, general manager of a Kwik-Way convenience store on Prince Edward Island.

The new mayor of London is banning alcohol on all public transportation. But the people who run the subway trains in London aren't entirely happy with the new ban. Host Marco Werman finds out why from Steve Grant. He's with the union representing London's train operators.
