Vice President Dick Cheney today met with leaders in Ukraine, one of the former Soviet states worried about Russia's recent military actions. Cheney said the United States is committed to Ukraine's security and freedom. Anchor Marco Werman finds out more from the BBC's Gabriel Gatehouse in Kiev.

Marco Werman speaks with author Helene Cooper about her memoir, "The House at Sugar Beach - In Search of a Lost African Childhood." It tells the story of Cooper's family in Liberia -- and by extension chronicles Liberia's history -- from its founding by freed American slaves to its modern civil war.

The two countries have had a hostile relationship for over a century, after hundreds of thousands of Armenians were killed during the decline of the Turkish Ottoman empire.
