As a kid April Peavey loved reading the Sunday newspaper and taping cartoons on her portable cassette recorder. She was destined to be a radio journalist. During her ten-plus career in radio, April has travelled to Cuba, Spain, and the 2004 Democratic and Republican Conventions.
April produces news and global hits for “The World.” She enjoys the variety and is talented at producing hard news interviews and sound rich music features. She filled a similar role with her previous job at the other Boston public radio station WBUR on the daily program “Here and Now.”
Before her turn to radio, April worked at NBC in New York, the Museum of Television and Radio, and ushered at the Metropolitan Opera House. She received her Bachelors degree from Emerson College and has a Master’s in Theological Studies from Boston University. She currently resides in New Hampshire with four cats and two dogs. And yes, she’s still working on knitting a sweater for her partner!
