Associate Producer

Katherine Griffin has been with “The World” since 1997, participating in the early days of its evolution and growth as both Office Manager and Associate Producer. Katherine has contributed to the program both inside and outside the studio – overseeing general office functions, assisting with new staff orientation, helping overseas staff with relocation to Boston, and writing and producing promotional material.

These days she’s more focused on Assistant Directing during the live broadcast and writing the daily summary of the program for public radio stations around the country to promote that day’s show.

Prior to joining “The World,” Katherine was Office Manager for a real estate investment firm in Boston, and an Administrative Manager at an Environmental Consulting firm in San Diego, California. “One of the reasons for returning to Boston”, says Griffin, an enthusiastic traveler, “was for its proximity to Europe and my desire to explore cultures beyond my own. Working at “The World” has fed that curiosity and — through reports, stories, and music — has taken me to places I never expected to go.”
