Web Editor

Steven joined The World in 2010 to establish the newly created web editor position. In this role he is responsible for the editorial direction of The World’s daily online presence and overall strategic vision at theworld.org.

Steven is also the developer of Exploring Conversations, a multimedia website examining the language of music. He has also taught graduate and undergraduate students in social media and digital news reporting at Michigan State University.

Steven additionally is a regular contributor to PBS MediaShift where he writes about the evolving intersection of politics and technology.

From 2002-2010 Steven hosted The Nonchalant Café, a radio newsmagazine at WIDR FM in Kalamazoo, MI. He has also worked as a news director in commercial radio and has regularly reported for United Press International covering defense and emerging security threats.

Steven holds an MA in journalism from Michigan State University.
