Traci Tong

Traci Tong has been a member of “The World” from its inception in 1995. Throughout her tenure with the program, Tong has served as the director of the daily broadcast and news producer.

Before joining “The World,” Traci worked as a reporter, assistant news director and anchor at KERA, North Texas Public Broadcasting in Dallas, where she covered state and national politics. Her investigative reports on civil liberties issues, racism and discrimination garnered her numerous awards.

Traci had been on her way to a career in law when she discovered her passion for journalism. Her first broadcasting job was in her home state of Hawaii, where she eventually became state capital correspondent for Hawaii Public Radio.
